Creekside Bar and Grill

The quaint village of Battersea features a general store and the Creekside Bar and Grill.  The Creekside offers an outdoor patio and frequent live music (including the occasional appearance by local “blues legend”, Dan Aykroyd).  You can visit the Creekside (and go into town for provisions) by boat.  Just meander down Battersea Creek and tie up at the rustic town docks – only 10 minutes from Big Island.

Loughborough Inn

Located immediately next to the Loughborough Lake Marina (Big Island’s mainland access point), the Inn offers wonderful family dinning at a very reasonable price (breakfast is just $4.99 CAD for anything and everything on the menu).  Call ahead to make reservations and enjoy fine food, friendly service, a fishing lodge atmosphere and views, while you eat, of your very own Big Island!  The Inn can also accommodate any overflow guests.

Wolfe Island

There is a free ferry from Kingston that will take you to Wolfe Island, reminiscent in so many ways of Nantucket off the coast of Cape Cod.  The 20-minute ride crosses the entryway to the Thousand Islands district, with the St. Lawrence River to one side and Lake Ontario on the other.
